Epilepsy surgery program

Epilepsy surgery is an option for some patients with epilepsy. This procedure either removes or isolates the area of the brain where seizures originate. Some cases are amenable to laser ablation.

VCU’s Department of Neurosurgery offers treatment of epilepsy through the VCU Epilepsy Center, a Level 4 epilepsy center as designated by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers. To learn more, visit the center’s website.
